Cloverdale Youth Soccer League has exciting news for 2017!
Cloverdale Youth Soccer League, in conjunction with Challenger Sports, will be offering our first Soccer Camp in the summer of 2017 with professional coaches from the UK & Brazil. The league has contracted with Challenger Sports to run a camp the week of July 10-14th at Furber Park for all kids aged 3-14 yrs old.
This will be a great opportunity for all of our children in Cloverdale to get some high quality soccer training from experts and have a lot of fun doing it during summer break. All children will get a free soccer ball, camp t-shirt, player evaluation and soccer poster, and will also be taught great character lessons in sport such as respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship during camp.
As part of the relationship, Challenger Sports will also be providing coach education resources to the league in order to help our volunteer coaches. There will be a coaches clinic during the week of soccer camp.
The camp will be open for registration in early January and if you sign up early you will get your child a free British soccer jersey (worth $40)….check out www.challengersports.com for more information but please add the date of July 10-14th to your calendars and get signed up for camp in January before it fills up. We will post more specific camp sign up information in January.

We are pleased to announce that all of the 2016 schedules are (finally) finalized. We thank you for your patience; especially families of U12 and U14 players. The schedule for all our U12, U14, and U16 teams is done by the district and not locally here in Cloverdale and we just received the finalized schedules today. A special thank you to our U10-U16 coaching coordinator Maribel Soto for her hard work fighting to get the schedules finalized and out to coaches. If you see her out on the soccer field, please give her a big thanks for all her efforts! The schedules can be accessed on our website at cloverdaleyouthsoccer.com. Under “The Game” heading, select “Teams and Schedules” and then click on the link to the schedule you need. We hope you all have a fun season!
We are excited to have our concession stand again this year at Furber Park during the games played on Saturdays. Please stop by and check it out. The coupon below is good this Saturday 8/27 and on Saturday 9/10 – you can bring a printed copy or show us the copy on your mobile device. Hope to see you there!
Dear Cloverdale Youth Soccer Families,
The soccer league depends on corporate sponsorship to help pay for all the assorted costs associated with keeping the League going and the kids playing. At this point we are still short three corporate sponsors. Please consider asking your employer to sponsor a soccer team. The cost is only $300 and the benefits are huge. These include:
- Paying for each child on the team’s trophy, which will include sponsor’s name.
- Listing in The Cloverdale Reveille and featured on our website, cloverdaleyouthsoccer.org.
- Business name listing on your sponsored team banner throughout the 2016 season.
- End of season appreciation plaque with your sponsored team photo.
Thank you to all of our current sponsors: Kelder Engineering, North County Property Management, Steve Taylor Excavation, ACE Hardware, North Coast Logistics, Classic Mill and Cabinet, Nor Cal Tree Care, Animal Hospital of Cloverdale, Pavelka and Associates, Hamburger Ranch, Bear Republic, Rotary Club of Cloverdale, Cloverdale Lions, Pacific West Fabrication, Papa’s Pizza, Clover Theatre, Denbeste Landscaping, Cloverdale Kiwanis, and Grey Creek Viticultural Services.
Please reach out to Sponsorship Coordinator Peter Kruger at (707)480-5296 or peterkruger007@gmail with questions. Thanks!
We have 12 teams for children U10-U16 this year but sadly we only have 6 coaches for these teams. We are missing coaches for U10 boys, U12 Girls, U14 girls and U16 boys.
Unfortunately if we do not have a registered, approved coach (the coach has to be fingerprinted) for each team, many children will not be able to play this season nor will we be able to hand out equipment for practices. Remember you don’t need to be a parent to coach. IT’S URGENT WE FIND COACHES FOR THESE TEAMS
It is our goal that all kids who registered this year will be able to play soccer. Soccer keeps kids active, teaches them self discipline, teamwork and more. It’s important that as parents we do what we can to keep these teams united and on track to practice and play at the same time as the other teams.
We are pleased to announce our partnership with DICK’S Sporting Goods this year. They have generously offered a 20% discount for items purchased in the Santa Rosa store Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st. Click below for the coupon! Please also see the additional coupons available if you scroll down on our home page screen.
We are making a change to our uniform policy and we are very excited about it!
In the past we have had a lot of complaints about the sizing of the uniforms. It was difficult to meet the sizing of the age groups with the process that was being used. When new uniforms were purchased they were given to the older ages. As seasons went on and some uniforms were not returned, there was not enough jerseys to fill an older team with more players. The uniforms were handed down to younger ages as the number of jerseys diminished. We also found that we were spending a lot of money on shorts and socks that were not being used very much. Sooooo….
Starting this year, you will be filling out your child’s sizes at both online and live registrations. Our wonderful equipment coordinator, Katie Silva, will be purchasing jerseys accordingly. We will no longer be providing the shorts and socks but the players will get to keep their jerseys! Not T-shirts folks, ACTUAL jerseys! This should make everyone happy! It will help address the sizing issues, easier on coaches not having to collect uniforms, and much easier on our equipment coordinator!
The “F” license in soccer is a training course geared towards coaches for the U6-U8 age levels. It is particularly helpful for new coaches but experienced coaches can benefit as well. CYSL does not require our coaches to have this license but we encourage you to do so. It is a 2 hour online course which costs $25. Once you complete the course CYSL will reimburse you for the cost of the class.
